Podiatry Clinic in Plano, TX. and McKinney, TX.

Plantar fasciitis is the term commonly used to refer to heel and arch pain traced to an inflammation on the bottom of the foot. More specifically, plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the connective tissue, called plantar fascia, that stretches from the base of the toes, across the arch of the foot, to the point at which it inserts into the heel bone. Overpronation is the most common cause of plantar fasciitis. As the foot rolls inward excessively when walking, it flattens the foot, lengthens the arch, and puts added tension on the plantar fascia. Over time, this causes inflammation.

Also known as heel spur syndrome, the condition is often successfully treated with conservative measures, such as the use of anti-inflammatory medications, ice packs, stretching exercises, orthotic devices, and physical therapy. Note: Please consult your physician before taking any medications.

Heel pain is the most common thing we treat at Premier Foot and Ankle. Because of this, we have invested in technology to cure your pain that most other specialists have not with 90% success.

Podiatherm (Radiofrequency) is an in office procedure designed to relieve heel pain with close to 90% success. It is performed under local anesthesia and there are no restrictions after the treatment. It uses radiofrequency to eliminate heel pain by nerve ablation. This technology has been utilized for back pain in the past and now can be used for heel pain as well as other foot conditions. (Click Podiatherm to learn more)

EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Treatment) is the newest treatment added to our office. Years ago, it was performed in the operating room and cost thousands. Now it can be performed in the office for a fraction of the cost. It treats the heel pain by sending a pressure wave through the heel for 4 minutes. This creates a response in the tissue that allows it to heal itself. Typically, patients experience 90% success after 3 treatments. There are no restrictions and this is often used by professional athletes to return to their sport without having surgery for heel pain and other orthopedic conditions. (Click EPAT to learn more)

Platelet Rich Plasma has gained popularity recently because of its success in treating famous athletes such as Tiger Woods. It utilizes the patients healing factors from their own blood to heal the problem. In the past this was done in the operating room. At Premier Foot and Ankle, we have the technology to perform this in office. It has a 90% cure rate.
